We started Atelier Nicola with a pretty simple idea: clothing should feel personal, not like you grabbed it off a rack with a thousand identical pieces. We wanted to create garments that actually fit who you are and how you live your life. Born between Copenhagen and Stockholm, we set out to rethink what luxury really means. To us, it's not about flashy logos or complicated outfits that only work on Instagram. Real luxury is thoughtfully crafted clothing that's comfortable, stylish, and makes sense in your everyday life.

Yeah, we know how that sounds – like every sleazy marketing pitch ever. But honestly, we just wanted to make garments people actually connect with and enjoy wearing.

From teenage obsession to moderen tailoring experience.
A story from the founder.
My interest in menswear started pretty simply – as a kid who just started high school and had no idea how to dress or even why you should try. But somehow, it sparked something in me that's stuck around ever since.
What began as trying to figure out my own style gradually turned into a genuine passion for well-made clothing. I started noticing the details most people overlook – how a shoulder sits, the way fabric drapes, why some pieces just feel better than others.
After years of working freelance in marketing for different companies, including an exclusive menswear shop outside Copenhagen, I kept having this feeling that I should be doing something else. My regular work just wasn't cutting it anymore, and I kept coming back to this passion for clothing I'd developed over the years.
The idea for Atelier Nicola came from years of noticing the same thing: traditional tailoring felt a bit out of reach for most people, at the same time, most ready-to-wear clothing just doesn’t fit the way it should. Fast fashion comes and goes, but rarely feels like something worth holding onto.
There had to be something in between. Clothes made with care and quality, but without all the old-school formality. A way to make tailoring feel less like a ceremony and more like a conversation. Something that actually fits into how people dress and live today.
That’s what we set out to build. We know we didn’t invent the wheel with this brand. Tailoring has been around for a long time, and we have a lot of respect for that tradition. But somewhere along the way, it started feeling out of touch, too stiff, too complicated, and often too expensive to feel relevant for everyday life.
So we built something in between. A place where you can get clothes that actually fit, made with real passion and craftsmanship, but without all the old-school fuss. No heavy jargon, no rigid dress codes. Just honest, well-made clothing that feels good to wear.
Funny enough, it all goes back to those awkward high school years when I couldn’t figure out why nothing fit right. Turns out, that frustration turned into a lifelong curiosity, and eventually, a business I really believe in.
Turns out that helping people feel good in what they wear isn’t a bad way to spend your time.
